Crime and Music

Black Sabbath vs Wu-Tang Clan

Black Sabbath

From the ghettos of Birmingham to the slums of shaolin, two albums that have intertwined sex, drugs, and crime like no other.  Black Sabbath opens with a moody mix of instrumental wails accompanied by ritualistic howls by lost children forgotten in an indifferent world.  Satan slithers while spines shiver and tounges deliver a message of sex drugs and rock n roll; while the wizard speaks through the wasp in this wicked wonderland.  In conclusion, ominous jamming sets the tone where dandelions & roses have no place to grow, in a place where the devil can proudly claim as home.

36 Chambers by Wu-Tang Clan

Where Black Sabbath is guided by satans hand, “Bring Da Ruckus” blames no devil and claims no God. “Clan in Da Front” has a sample packed with energy comparable to Sabbath’s jamming, but backed by tales harsh realities denied by politicians and socialites alike. “Can It All Be So Simple”, “C.R.E.A.M.”, and “Tearz” like Sabbath talk of lost children, only with razor sharp details leaving no space for interpretation.  While Sabbath showcases guitars and tone, Wu-Tang answers with hard beats and crazy flows.

You may relate to one more than the other based on musical taste or what side of the tracks your from, but these are 2 timeless albums that were way ahead of their time.  Within both albums lies one universal truth —> Cash rules in a wicked world where the devil plays.
