Musical Ambiverts

The Victorian Wallflowers by Ashbury Heights

Sometimes music, like people, cannot he labeled as introverted or extroverts.  Ashbury Heights’ “The Victorian Wallflowers“, is loaded with extroverted rythmns full of confidence, all dressed up, and ready to hit the club.  The tone created by album radiates the feeling of an extrovert who thinks like an introvert.  The perfect example is “Science” which verbally expresses inward struggles.  Even the hook says “It’s science, my emotion is just an appliance”. Yet you feel like getting ready to move on the dance floor.

First Come First Served by Dr Dooom

“First Come First Served” by Dr Dooom conquers introverted feelings with the thoughts of an extrovert,  meanwhile inhabiting the mind of a potential serial killer.  Dr Dooom is that quiet neighbor down the hall you need to watch out for.  Brain food beats create a sedated ride through this opium den, only to be met with wild braggadocious ryhmes from the infamous Dr Dooom.  Over the top lryics like, “It don’t have to be 4th of July for your rectum to see fireworks”, and “Gastric juice with French Toast and balls from a moose” are followed by anonymous disses like “You aint got enough to buy a small soda at Johnny Rockets”, and “Dragging your stomach parts to McDonalds while I’m drinking absolute bottles”. All in all at the end today’s listen, we are left feeling sensitive towards the thoughts of the social butterfly, and extremely cautious of the the quiet neighbor next door 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ .
