“Nightmare in Dreamland”

Dreamland by Robert Miles

Our dream lifts off with Robert Miles’ “Dreamland “ into a steady incline above the clouds. That favorite ecstasy trip, that safe romance, and feelings of universal love maintain a pillowy bliss far superior to cloud 9. Throughout “Dreamland “, you are steadily, heavily, and pleasantly sedated with no fear or pain in this never ending dream sequence. The album ends with “Red Zone” which is the perfect transition from the cloudless sky into the storm ahead.

Country Girl by Boy Harsher

Somewhere in the middle of the night this dream shifted with Boy Harsher and “Country Girl”. Maybe you left the TV on and somehow a documentary is now playing about Richard Ramirez, and that soft romance shifts gears to a hard fuck opening with “Motion”. Satin has been replaced with leather, and that comfortable familiar dream shifted into a dark fantasy. Where “Dreamland” soars above the clouds, “Country Girl” plunges deep into the mind with “Underwater” and holds you down until you suffocate with “Westerners “. “Swing” closes out our dream with some talking in our sleep and a fade into nowhere.
